SP Garden Club exhibition features beautiful flower arrangements and free gardening workshops

The SP Garden Club held its 84th Flower Arrangement and Plant Exhibition on the ground floor of the Brazilian British Centre in Pinheiros on 19 and 20 September. As well as showcasing dozens of stunning floral arrangements, the event also featured a performance by the Jardim das Oliveiras Presbyterian Church children’s choir and workshops on growing tomatoes and creating vegetable arrangements.

The event was a success, attracting many members of the British community. Andrew Greenlees, chairman of the Fundação Britânica de Benficência and the British Society SP, attended the opening of the exhibition. He emphasised the importance of community organisations’ work in education, culture, social welfare, sport, Scouting, and spiritual support. Maralice Higgins, chair of the Garden Club, celebrated the exhibition’s success. “One of the aims of the event is to strengthen community ties and engagement, and the result exceeded all our expectations. We will continue to organise more events like this,” she said.
