As you know, the British Charitable Foundation works with people aged 60 and over, who represent the main group at risk from coronavirus. For this reason, we have been monitoring the progression of the disease very closely since the start of the crisis.
Early last week, we distributed a guide on the virus and reiterated the prevention advice to all older people involved in our projects. However, as the situation has worsened and in light of the latest guidance from the relevant health authorities, we have decided to suspend all activities aimed at older people indefinitely , until conditions allow safe measures for your return to normal life.
However, we remain committed to our mission of promoting the wellbeing of older people , and we are in constant (albeit virtual) contact with all our beneficiaries to advise and inform them about the disease.
We would like to take this opportunity to emphasise that, if you are elderly or belong to a high-risk group, you should take the measures recommended by the authorities to avoid contracting the virus.
Furthermore, out of respect for our community and our staff, and with the aim of reducing the spread of COVID-19 and preventing the healthcare system from becoming overburdened, our entire team is working from home during this period.
